Andrew Leckey's Professional Experience
Andrew Leckey, with experience as a syndicated investment columnist, network financial television anchor and Fulbright Scholar, is President of the Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism and the Reynolds Endowed Chair in Business Journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University.
Andrew has directed the financial training of 12,000 journalists at workshops. He launched the Reynolds Center; the BusinessJournalism.org web site; the Barlett & Steele Awards for Investigative Business Journalism; and the annual training seminar for business journalism professors. Andrew also runs the Business Journalism Specialization, teaching lecture and online courses while coordinating internships and hiring with major news organizations.
He was a long-time nationally-syndicated investment columnist for the Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times; a CNBC Network television anchor and reporter; and the author or editor of 10 financial books. He received National Association of Investors Corporation's Distinguished Award in Investment Education; was the first Director of the Bloomberg Business Journalism Program at University of California, Berkeley; and was a visiting professor at Boston University.
He was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow in Business and Economics Journalism and also a Media Studies Fellow, both at Columbia University, and is a graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism. He is frequently interviewed by the media and a keynote speaker and panelist at conferences in the U.S. and abroad.
